MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round athletic training and sports competition in a variety of Olympic type sports for children and adults with mental retardation or closely related developmental disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship.

Craven's Got Talent
Special Olympics Craven County will host their first annual fundraiser called "Craven's Got Talent." This event will be held on Saturday, September 26th at 7:00 pm in the auditorium at Grover C. Fields Middle School in New Bern. General admission is $5. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Craven County. If you would like to buy tickets, please contact our office at (252) 636-6606 for a listing of locations selling them.

Spaghetti Dinner
The Knights of Columbus and Pizza Hut will host its annual Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser for Special Olympics Craven County. This event will be held Saturday, October 8, 2009 from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall near Kidsville. The meal includes spaghetti, salad, bread, drink and desert. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 & under. They are available in our office or you can purchase at the door. You can also eat in or take out for your convenience. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Craven County. For more information, contact our office at (252) 636-6606.
